Meetings

WHO SHOULD MEET WITH THE DRC?

Applicants, architects, construction contractors, developers, property owners and others who are involved in the preparation of a plat, construction plans, zoning application, etc., for a development project in the City of Ferris.

WHY MEET WITH THE DRC?

A meeting with the DRC is not a mandatory requirement of the land development or permit application process.  However, it is sometimes recommended for the following benefits:

  1. An opportunity to consult with staff prior to submission of applications for the development of land.
  2. An enhanced understanding of the City's regulations and review process.
  3. During a potential project’s conceptual planning stage, avoids unnecessary expenses and loss of valuable time through identification of potential setbacks.
  4. Prior to completion of final designs, affords an opportunity to review plans with staff and receive guidance regarding City policies and regulations.
  5. Coordinates project review discussions amongst various municipal departments in a single meeting, thereby expediting the review process.
  6. Provides opportunity for the exploration of alternatives and potential solutions to problems discovered during the review process.
