WHO SHOULD MEET WITH THE DRC?
Applicants, architects, construction contractors, developers, property owners and others who are involved in the preparation of a plat, construction plans, zoning application, etc., for a development project in the City of Ferris.
WHY MEET WITH THE DRC?
A meeting with the DRC is not a mandatory requirement of the land development or permit application process. However, it is sometimes recommended for the following benefits:
- An opportunity to consult with staff prior to submission of applications for the development of land.
- An enhanced understanding of the City's regulations and review process.
- During a potential project’s conceptual planning stage, avoids unnecessary expenses and loss of valuable time through identification of potential setbacks.
- Prior to completion of final designs, affords an opportunity to review plans with staff and receive guidance regarding City policies and regulations.
- Coordinates project review discussions amongst various municipal departments in a single meeting, thereby expediting the review process.
- Provides opportunity for the exploration of alternatives and potential solutions to problems discovered during the review process.
