The Municipal Finance Department is responsible for the administration of the annually adopted Municipal Budget. The division processes payroll, requisition requests, issues purchases orders, validates receipt of merchandise, and issues checks. It is this division that is responsible for the bookkeeping and financial records of the City. The City of Ferris currently uses municipal accounting software from USTI to accomplish its accounting responsibility. This division assists the City Manager with his responsibility of budget preparation and any amendments or revisions to the budget that may be necessary. This division is the operation of the City that prepares the City’s records for the annual independent audit. The Division Director is responsible for the delivery of several key monthly reports concerning municipal financial operations to the City Manager and the City Council.
